🧤 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Understand why PPE is the last line of defence, the main PPE types by body part, how to select equipment to the assessed hazard, correct fit and respirator face-fit testing, inspection, maintenance and storage, the real limitations of PPE, and the legal duties of employers and workers under OSHA 1910 Subpart I (1910.132–.138), the EU PPE Regulation 2016/425 and EN standards. It maps to PPE selection & use (OSHA 1910 Subpart I, EN standards). The course is organized into 7 modules, ending with a final exam (pass mark 80%). • Place PPE correctly as the last line of defence within the hierarchy of controls
• Match the main PPE types to the body part and the specific hazard they address
• Run a written, certified hazard assessment and select PPE to the assessed risk and the correct standard/marking
• Fit, inspect, clean, maintain and store PPE, including respirator face-fit testing and APF/seal concepts
• Read eye, head, hand and respirator markings (ANSI Z87.1, Z89.1, EN 166, EN 388, NIOSH/EN filter classes)
• Explain the real limitations of PPE and the distinct legal duties of employers and workers
