Learning objectives
- Explain what ISO 45001:2018 is, why organizations adopt it and how it relates to OHSAS 18001 and ILO-OSH 2001
- Map the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle onto clauses 4–10 and the Annex SL High-Level Structure
- Tell a hazard from a risk and score it on a 5×5 likelihood × severity matrix
- Apply the hierarchy of controls (elimination first, PPE last) to reduce residual risk
- Recognize top-management leadership duties (clause 5) and worker consultation & participation (clause 5.4)
- Run emergency preparedness, incident investigation, corrective action and continual improvement (clauses 8.2, 10.2, 10.3)
