Learning objectives

  • Verify and explain the current work package, revision, product variant, process code, equipment code, and operation code before work begins.
  • Confirm component identity, batch or lot traceability, orientation, material status, and segregation using controlled local evidence.
  • Assess workstation order, access, tools, gauges, calibration status, safeguards, emergency stops, and task-specific PPE before start-up.
  • Apply the authorized start-up sample and first-off decision, including hold, recording, isolation, and escalation when acceptance is not demonstrated.
  • Follow the current standard sequence and visual controls while recognizing stop-work criteria and conditions that require supervisor review.
  • Record in-process quality and SPC observations without inventing limits, changing samples, or releasing output outside current local criteria.
  • Control scrap, waste, leaks, energy use, and housekeeping through the applicable local environmental arrangements and escalation route.
  • Distinguish an operator stop from an emergency response or an intervention requiring the machine-specific energy-control procedure and authorized personnel.
