Learning objectives

  • Distinguish riveting, staking, crimping, upsetting, and press-fit scope while matching the current controlled instruction and reference-only registry selectors.
  • Verify component and fastener identity, lot trace, orientation, quantity, and approved presentation before the first cycle and after any approved change.
  • Inspect accessible fixture, punch, die, anvil, locating feature, guard, and sensor condition and stop rather than using damaged or mismatched tooling.
  • Recognize pinch, crush, ejection, sharp-edge, unexpected-motion, noise, repetitive-handling, and stored-energy exposure and apply the approved controls and PPE.
  • Maintain the approved normal sequence and safe hand position while checking full seating, first-off status, process indication, force trace availability, and visual condition.
  • Use pull, force, or destructive acceptance checks only when a validated registry quality check and the current local controlled criterion define the method and authority.
  • Identify under-forming, over-forming, cracking, looseness, incomplete seating, wrong orientation, a mark or dent, other cosmetic damage, and missing trace data and contain affected output as NOK.
  • Respond to jams, guard or sensor faults, tool-change requests, abnormal motion, stored energy, and emergencies without entering the hazard zone or inventing an isolation step.
