A controlled operator course separating resistance welding, robotic welding, and positioned manual welding responsibilities. It covers work-package identity, fixtures, electrodes, consumables, extraction, first-off evidence, weld location, weld length, weld appearance, NOK containment, repair authorization, and safe escalation using the current local criterion without supplying parameters or acceptance limits. All equipment selectors are reference-only. PC-809 and PC-924 are provisional and must remain visible with their local-validation warning before any local use.

Learning objectives

  • Separate resistance, robotic, and positioned manual welding scope while matching personal authorization, the current work package, and reference-only registry selectors.
  • Recognize welding fumes, fire, sparks, electrical contact, heat, noise, unexpected motion, crushing, trapping, and handling hazards and apply only approved local controls and PPE.
  • Verify work-package identity, joint and component orientation, fixture condition, electrode or contact condition, consumable identity, extraction status, and startup readiness.
  • Keep normal operators outside automatic cells, preserve guards and interlocks, and route every entry, teaching, diagnostic, or maintenance need to separately authorized personnel.
  • Retain documented startup-sample and first-off approval before normal output and check the approved process indication and weld trace without altering parameters.
  • Compare weld location, weld length, appearance, missing welds, burn-through, expulsion, spatter, and other visible conditions only with the current local controlled criteria.
  • Contain suspect or NOK weldments, preserve traceability, and allow repair or rework only through a documented authorized disposition followed by required reinspection.
  • Respond to extraction failure, abnormal arc, interlock fault, positioner motion, cell-entry demand, fire, injury, or immediate threat with the correct abnormal or emergency route.
